When quirky Tim Burton announces that his version of Alice in Wonderland will be un-Disney, all I can think of is a dark, evil, and mad-looking Alice biting off the rabbit;s head. Hmmm… Anne Hathaway will star as the White Queen and Johnny Depp, Burton’s muse, will be the Mad Hatter.

My heart goes out to Jennifer Hudson. Having watched Jennifer since her debut on American Idol session 3 in 2004, and then her debut as an actress in Dreamsgirls… and then her successful Sex in the City portrayer of a girl who lost love but found another. I can’t help but want to say I can connect to her. It is really unfortunate that something bad happen to her family yesterday.

Please support Jennifer’s single http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ojza4LcC-4

While the newscasters are singing praises about Obama, those who don’t watch these news that often or are strongly racists are saying things that… well you don’t really want to know about. Watching this clip just confirms that there is racial tension in America and prejudices prevails.

Black, Christian nation, Terrorist, Muslim, Anti-White, Trash, Baby Killer, etc…

I call this W-E-I-R-D!

Charming, but not enough. Sarah Palin meets Tina Fey, Palin’s impersonator and also Emmy Award winner, at Saturday Night Fever (SNL). What do you know? The ratings went up and its SNL highest ever with 14 million US viewers and many more online. Man, it may help that Palin is an overnight star now. Good enough for the occasional spoof on SNL. Not enough to be Vice President of USA.

You can imagine how weird it must have been to not see some friends since Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). 17 years… when we left primary school everyone is very short and cute…the boys will tease the girls and call them “Mu Lao Fu” (tigeress) because they are always so fierce. I was slapped on my arms so many times that I swear that part of my arm is still numb! wahahaa~ the good old days. it’s weird but understandable that everyone has moved on to something good in life. although i must admit there is this part of me that doesn’t want to grow up. I want to play catching around the empty janitor’s house. I want to play hop scotch and win some marbles. I want to jump on the zero-points rubber bands. I want so much to be young again, to fall in love - i mean puppy love, to wake up in fear and anticipate what Ms Monica Chong will wear in the morning - blue is bad and we have grown to acknowledge the fact that those hedious blue hues above her eye lid mean more than make-up; blue is the colour of anger for Ms Chong. She will fling exercise books out of the window, pull your eyes till it crack, and scream in your face (i swear those saliva spitting out of your motor mouth are acidic). It was also during that period… i read Ronald Dahl’s The Witches and Maltida novel. Soon I develop my own theories that Ms Chong is a witch in disguise and those acidic saliva are purplish and she is wearing a wig under those big “bomb” hair… i would secretly call up my energy to focus on exposing her evil deeds to the extent that i had my eyes fixed on her wig! “move, move, move out of that bald head,” I mumbled.

Hockey mum, Governor Sarah Palin, gets the ‘boo’ from Philadelphia Flyers fans on 12 October. More boos were received from the cheaper seats but mix reactions at the more expensive seats. If this implies anything, it appears that the middle income and below Americans are not favourable of Governor Sarah Palin to be Vice President of USA. The power of media, especially so in the Youtube era, once again impacts publics’ opinion. Viewers have cultivated unfavourable messages on Palin. It is so scary.

Are the Republicans playing on losing ground? They Pal(e)-in comparison to the Democrats led by Obama.

Dark and haunting. Sam Sparro’s Black and Gold strikes the right chord with monotonous beats and stark lyrics. What makes this single stands out is Sam’s distinct vocal. Listen to the different versions here.

If the fish swam out of the ocean
and grew legs and they started walking
and the apes climbed down from the trees
and grew tall and they started talking

and the stars fell out of the sky
and my tears rolled into the ocean
now i’m looking for a reason why
you even set my world into motion

’cause if you’re not really here
then the stars don’t even matter
now i’m filled to the top with fear
but it’s all just a bunch of matter
’cause if you’re not really here
then i don’t want to be either
i wanna be next to you
black and gold
black and gold
black and gold

i looked up into the grey sky
and see a thousand eyes staring back
and all around these golden beacons
i see nothing but black

i feel a way of something beyond them
i don’t see what i can feel
if vision is the only validation
then most of my life isn’t real

’cause if you’re not really here
then the stars don’t even matter
now i’m filled to the top with fear
but it’s all just a bunch of matter
’cause if you’re not really here
then i don’t want to be either
i wanna be next to you
black and gold
black and gold
black and gold

8:38 – Sub-prime lending meltdown: who do you think is at fault?

One thing that Americans do at this time also though is let’s commit ourselves just everyday American people – joe six-pack and hockey mums across the nation – i think we need to band together and say never again never will we be exploited and taken advantage again by those who are managing our money and loaning us these dollars. We need to make sure that we demand from federal government strict oversight of those entities in charge of our investments and our savings and we need also to not get ourselves in debt. Let’s do what our parents told us before we probably even got that first credit card. Don’t live outside our means. We need to make sure that as individuals we are taking personal responsibility through all these. It’s not the American people’s fault the economy is hurting like it is. But we have an opportunity to learn a heck alot of good lessons through these to say that never again we will be taken advantage of.

13:00 – Would you like to have the opportunity before we move on?

I am still at the tax thing because i want to correct you yet again. I want to let you know what I did as a mayor and a governor and i may not answer the question the way that either the moderator or you want to hear but i want to talk straight the American people to let them know about my track records also.

1:07:48 – How would a Palin administration differ from a McCain administration?

What do you expect a team of mavericks of course we are not going to agree a 100 per cent on everything…

1:10:30

I come from a house full of school teachers my grandma was my dad who is in the audience today is a school teacher had been for many years my brother whom i think is the best school teacher in the year and this a  shout out to all those third graders from Glady’s elementary school you get extra credit for watching this debate.

Transcript of the exclusive CBS News interview with Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Governor Palin talks about her various positions on foreign policy and diplomacy.

Opening

As we stand before this augusta building and institution, what do you see as the role of united states in the world?

Hmmm i see the united states as being a force for good in the world and as Ronald regan used to talk about America being the becon of light and hope for those who are seeking democratic values and tolerance and freedom and i see our country being able to represent those things that can be looked at to as that leadership that light needed across the world.

In preparing for this conversation alot of our viewers and internet users wanted to know why you did not get a passport until last year and they wondered if it indicated a lack of interest and curiosity in the world.

I’m not one of those who maybe came from a background of you know kids who perhaps graduate from college and their parents gave them a passport and give them a backpack and say go travel around the world. Nooo~ i work all my life. In fact, i usually had two jobs all my life until i had kids. I was not a.. a part of i guess that culture. The way i have understood the world is through education through books through mediums that have provided me a lot of perspective of the world.

You cited Alaska’s proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What do you mean by that?

That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country Russia and on the other side the land boundary that we have with Canada… it’s it’s funny that a comment like that was kind of made to … charac… i don’t know… you know reporters (MOCK?) yes mock ya i guess that is the word ya erm

Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

Well, it certainly does because our… our next door neighbours are foreign countries they’re in the state that i am the exact there of…and there in Russia

Have you ever been involved with negotiations for example with the Russians?

We have trade missions back and forth. We do. It’s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin where is this heading and ah comes into the airspace of the United States of America where did they go… it’s Alaska it’s just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that ice is being kept on this very powerful nation Russia because they are right there they are right next to erm our state.

When president bush ran for office he opposed nation building but he has spent as you know much of his presidency promoting democracy around the world. What lessons have you learned from Iraq and how specifically will you try to spread democracy throughout the world?

Specifically, we will make every effort possible to help spread democracy for those who desire freedom independence tolerance respect for equality… that is the whole goal in fighting terrorism…also it is not just to keep the people safe but to be able to usher in democratic values and ideas around the world

But what lessons do you think you have learnt as you watch this unfold in terms of implementing the democracy and the challenge inherent in that goal?

Well, one is that Americans cannot be counted on to do this solely to be the saviour of every other nation but we need friends and we need allies and we need this nation building effort and we need to forge new alliance and this is what a new election will provide opportunity to do.

And more…

and of course we have spoofs
